Account & data deletion

Delete your Konto account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Konto account and data. Konto is operated by DelmDev. If you only want to remove specific transactions or accounts, you can do that at any time inside the app — this page is for deleting your whole account.

How to request deletion

You can request deletion in either of these ways:

Option A — In the Konto app

  1. Open Konto and go to SettingsTap the Settings tab.
  2. Open AccountSelect your account section.
  3. Tap "Delete account" and confirmThis starts the deletion process described below.

Option B — By email

  1. Email us from your account's email addressSend a message to delmdev@gmail.com from the same email you use to sign in — this is how we confirm the request is really yours.
  2. Use the subject "Delete my account"You don't need to include anything else.
  3. We start the processOnce we verify the request comes from your account's email, we begin deletion as described below.

Email us to delete my account

You have 14 days to change your mind. After you request deletion, your account is locked and there is a 14-day grace period. You can cancel any time during those 14 days simply by signing back into the app, and your account is fully restored. If you do nothing, deletion is processed permanently after 14 days.

Cancel your subscription separately. If you have a paid subscription, deleting your account does not cancel it. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play — cancel it there as well to stop being charged.

What is deleted and what is kept

Konto's financial history is stored in an append-only ledger, so we complete deletion by anonymizing your data — permanently removing everything that identifies you — rather than leaving personal information behind. Here is exactly what happens:
