Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Konto app and service. Konto is a manual-first personal and household finance app — a tool for tracking money you record yourself. It is not a bank and never holds your money. Please read these terms carefully; by using Konto, you agree to them.
Konto ("Konto", "we", "us", or "our") is a personal and household finance application operated by DelmDev, an independent developer. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and DelmDev governing your access to and use of the Konto mobile app and the service behind it (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, or by downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of a household or other people you invite, you are responsible for their use of it and for making sure they understand how shared spaces work (see §05).
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service. By using Konto, you represent that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate. Konto is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use it. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may close it.
You must also be legally able to enter into this agreement and not be barred from using the Service under the laws that apply to you.
Konto is a manual-first personal and household finance tracker. You record your own transactions, accounts, budgets, and recurring rules, and Konto organizes them and shows you insights. Understanding what the Service is not is part of these Terms:
To use Konto you create an account with your email, name, and a password, verifying your email with a code we send you, or you sign in with Google. You agree to:
We protect accounts with securely stored passwords and sign-in sessions, and we apply reasonable limits to sign-in, email verification, and password-reset requests to protect the Service. We may refuse, suspend, or reset access where needed to keep accounts secure (see §12).
Konto organizes your finances into spaces. Every account includes a personal space that is created automatically, is always free, and cannot be deleted. You can also create or join shared spaces to track money together with a household or group.
Each member of a shared space has a role — owner or member. The person who creates a shared space is its owner and can rename or archive it. All members of a space can add and edit transactions, accounts, and categories within that space and can see each other's entries in it.
Shared spaces are joined by invite link or code. If you create or share an invite, you are responsible for who you share it with — anyone with a valid link or code can join that space and see its contents. Invites can be revoked, may expire, and may have a limited number of uses. Shared spaces are free, and joining one never counts towards the ten you can create (see §06).
When you join or contribute to a shared space, the other members can see the entries in that space. You should only add information you are comfortable sharing with them. You can leave a space, and owners can remove members. An archived space is kept but takes no new entries; its owner can archive it to free room for another space (see §06).
In a shared space, every member can see who paid what each month and what came out of accounts belonging to the space. With Konto Pro, members also see each member's share under the space's cost-sharing rule (equal, or percentages the members set), who owes whom, and progress toward savings goals; any member can then change the cost-sharing rule, record a settle-up, or create and edit goals, and everyone in the space sees the same figures. These figures come only from what members record: an expense counts as paid by the owner of the account it came from, money from an account that belongs to the space counts as shared, and expenses marked not to count are left out. A settle-up is only a record that one member paid another back outside Konto; recording one does not send or confirm any payment.
Shared spaces keep a minimal record when you leave. Because balances belong to everyone in a space, if you delete your account or leave, your shared entries are kept but stripped of your name, notes, and descriptions so other members' balances stay correct. See §12 and the Privacy Policy.
Konto's core features — your personal space, shared spaces, accounts, transactions, transfers, budgets, recurring transactions, who paid what and insights — are free. A paid subscription (Konto Pro) adds more.
Features that belong to a shared space — balances, settle-ups and savings goals — are available to every member of that space while at least one member has Konto Pro. Receipt scanning and spoken entries follow your own subscription.
You can create up to ten shared spaces of your own. Archiving one frees room for another, and spaces you join never count towards it.
Nothing you recorded is removed, and nothing pauses. Your spaces, transactions, recurring transactions and the record of who paid what keep working as before. Balances, settle-ups and savings goals are kept and become visible again when Konto Pro is back.
The allowances included, the available plans and billing periods, and the price are shown to you in the app at the time of purchase, and may change over time. If a plan's limits change, the current terms are those presented in the app.
Subscriptions are sold and billed through the app store you downloaded Konto from (the Apple App Store or Google Play), handled on our behalf by our subscription provider. When you subscribe:
You manage and cancel your subscription in your app store's subscription settings — not from within Konto. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Because billing is handled by the app stores, refunds are subject to the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play, and requests are made to them, not to us.
Deleting your Konto account does not cancel your subscription. Your subscription is billed by the app store, so you must also cancel it there to stop being charged. See the account deletion page.
We may offer promotional or complimentary access at our discretion; such access can be time-limited and withdrawn. Prices and plans may change, and where a change affects an active subscription, the app store's rules on notice and consent apply.
Receipt scanning and spoken entries are optional paid features. You photograph a receipt, or say a transaction out loud, and Konto uses a third-party AI provider to return suggested transaction details (such as the amount, date, merchant or description, and a suggested category and account). For spoken entries, your phone turns what you say into text, and only the text is used. These are only suggestions:
Receipt images and what you say are not stored. They are used once to produce suggestions and are never saved to our database or logs. See §07 of the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
These features depend on a third-party AI service and on your phone's speech recognition, and are provided on a best-effort basis. We may change, limit, or pause them, and we do not guarantee that they will always be available or accurate.
Konto is for your own personal and household finance tracking. You agree not to:
We may investigate and take action — including limiting features, or suspending or terminating accounts — for conduct that we reasonably believe breaks these rules (see §12).
The financial information and other content you put into Konto ("Your Content") remains yours. We do not claim ownership of it and we do not sell it.
To operate the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide and maintain the Service to you and, where you use shared spaces, to the members you share them with. This license exists only so the app can function; it ends when Your Content is deleted or anonymized, except for de-identified records and backups as described below and in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of Your Content and for having the right to record it. Konto keeps a complete history for accuracy: when you edit or remove records, that history is preserved so balances stay correct, and full erasure happens through account deletion and anonymization as described in §12 and the Privacy Policy.
We handle your personal data as set out in the Privacy Policy. Please review it — it forms part of your agreement with us.
The Service itself — the Konto app and service, its design, features, and the Konto name and logo — is owned by DelmDev and protected by intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of those rights to you.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Konto app on devices you control, for your own personal and household use. You may not use our name, logo, or branding without our permission.
To operate, Konto relies on third-party providers for things like hosting, subscription billing, email delivery, app updates, and the AI that reads receipts and spoken entries. We are not responsible for the acts, policies, or availability of these providers, and these Terms do not override any agreement you have directly with them.
In particular, the app is distributed and your subscription is billed through the app store you downloaded Konto from — the Apple App Store or Google Play. Your purchases, renewals, and refunds are also governed by that store's terms, and your relationship with it is directly between you and them (see §06).
For the types of service providers that process your data and what each one receives, see the Privacy Policy.
You can stop using Konto at any time. You can delete your account from within the app, which starts a 14-day grace period: your account is locked and you are signed out, but nothing is destroyed yet, and you can cancel simply by signing back in before the 14 days end. After that, deletion is permanent and we anonymize your data. Because Konto keeps a complete history, deletion works by anonymizing your records rather than erasing every row, and shared-space entries are kept in de-identified form so other members' balances stay correct. Full detail is on the account deletion page and in the Privacy Policy.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in your app store as well to stop being charged (see §06).
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, if you materially breach these Terms, use the Service unlawfully or in a way that harms other users or our systems, or where we are required to by law. Where reasonable and appropriate, we will try to give you notice. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive — including §§09–15 and §17 — continue to apply.
We may also discontinue the Service, or any feature of it, as described in §16.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular:
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DelmDev will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or for financial decisions you make using the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you, in which case our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DelmDev from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of the rights of any third party — including anything you record in, or share through, a shared space.
Konto is under active development. We may add, change, limit, or remove features of the Service, and we may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a change, you should stop using the Service and may delete your account.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Service are governed by the laws of Mexico, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and you agree to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Mexico, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence give you additional rights or require a different forum.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it.
